So Are You in the Zone (Diet that is)?

What is the Zone Diet (and some more tid-bits).

Did you know that the word ‘diet’ is actually a Greek word? YES! It means “way of life”. This diet give you the ability to control your genes. Huh? Okay, it will be explained. Because of this ability, you will feel your energy soar. Not only that, it eliminates your hunger and helps you to lose weight as well. You are the one that has the ultimate control over your wellness with the Zone Diet.

The main purpose for this diet is to maintain and balance out your hormones. It consists of low fat protein, low glycemic load carbs. These are carbs that are from fruits and vegetables. This diet helps to fight hunger and those cravings. It balances all of the essentials that your body needs. You basically consume in moderation carbohydrates, protein and then, of course, there are fats.

An even more in depth look is into what we need and what they mean. Insulin is something that our body uses to store hormones. storing too much is really bad for you, however, it is necessary to have some in your diet. There is another hormone that enables the body to release carbs and stabilizes blood sugar levels. This element is essential for mental and physical abilities. There is another hormone that controls the silent inflammation that is triggered by the insulin. The goal is to maintain and balance your hormones.

What makes People Chose Zone?

There may be more to it than merely losing weight. Some people may want to go on the diet so that they can maintain their health on a regular basis. There are a few good reasons why people chose to stay on this diet. There are positive reasons to keep to this diet because it balances many things including your mentality and fertility. It is in the hormones that seem to make our bodies function. Well, if that alone is not enough to convince you to become a Zone Dieter, maybe you can gain inspiration from famous people like Jennifer Aniston, Cindy Crawford, Tiger Woods, Renee Zellwenger and even Tom Cruise. They have all faithfully followed this trendy diet.

There is Always Going to be the Pros and the Cons in Any Diet.

A major con if that the Food and Drug Administration does not condone this diet. They are not for it because of the fact that the diet is high in protein and there is a lack of the nutrients that our bodies need. No to mention very few studies have been conducted on the long term effects of the diet. Because of the criticism from the dieters who like to eat just vegetables and vegan eaters who rely on only vegetables on a daily basis, the Zone diet can be supplemented with soy protein to accommodate our vegan friends.

As with any diet, you will have to actually take part in it to see whether or not it is the right diet for you. It is highly recommended that you consult with your doctor before trying any diet. Doctors know your body even better then you do. They will definitely know whether or not this is the right diet for you. As far as results are concerned, there is only one way that you will know for sure and that is to TRY IT for yourself!

There will always be critics but the ultimate test is what works for you. You will know this by trying the diet. Hey, if it worked for one of the fattest men in the world (who topped 1200 pounds), it may very well work for you as well. This man seems to be healthy but he cannot do normal activities because of his weight. He is on this diet and it seems to be working well for him. It is not always about appetite control but more about keeping your food cravings and hunger down to a bare minimum. Not all diets are for everyone but as it was mentioned earlier, there is no way of knowing until we try them for ourselves.

The master mind behind the diet, Dr. Sears, strives to work with each patient. He teamed up with Mexican doctors to aid in helping the obese patient. He has books written to help guide you. Each patient has his or her own individual needs and must being willing to try to lose weight and maintain it by following instructions. Reading about a diet will sometimes let us know whether or not it is for us as well.

The Focus On Celebrity Smiles

July 30, 2009 by · 4 Comments

Everyone looks to be obsessed with celebrities now a days. We constantly see stars in the tabloids and magazines pointing out aesthetic surgical procedures on each region of their bodies. When it gets to celebrity smiles we have an engaged interest, searching to find out how to get a celebrity smile as well as what work famous people have got.

Celebrity goes hand in hand with wealth so when you are under endless examination you can understand why they spend out so very much. Most celebrities will have some sort of dental payment plan or insurance policy to take care of whatever troubles with their teeth but numerous dental plans and insurance don’t take on cosmetic dental surgery so to get a celebrity smile you have to pay for it.

Smart film actors were the first to under go surgical operations to improve their bad teeth. Tom Cruise is a good example as when he was a child, Tom Cruise bad teeth stuck out a lot. Tom Cruise fixed his bad teeth and also has scheduled teeth whitening to maintain his celebrity smile sparkling.

Disney young talent are nowadays also taking on to the craze. Hilary Duff was the original star to join the cult having her teeth equipped with new veneerings. However Hilary Duff’s teeth came under fire from the media claiming she looked like a horse and the tag line Hilary Duff teeth started being banded about.

Miley Cyrus, child of Billy Ray and Hannah Montana super star is the newest Disney kid star to under go cosmetic surgery. Miley Cyrus teeth were somewhat crooked and it is reported that this star might have also paid for veneers but some people have speculated that Miley had been wearing a invisible brace. Many teeth whitening reviews websites have also revealed that Miley Cyrus looks as though she has undergone teeth whitening as well.

Some other sensation that has worn an invisible orthodontic brace is Cheryl Cole. Singer in Girls Aloud, Cheryl Cole’s teeth courted disputation when before and after pictures exposed that her teeth had developed a great deal. It eventually came out that Cheryl Cole teeth had been fixed with a concealed orthodontic brace in the early days of Girls Aloud and that she had likewise been getting teeth whitening on a frequent basis during her appearing on the X Factor.

Celebrities With Bad Teeth

February 10, 2009 by · 3 Comments

Sadly not all of us have been born with a set of celebrity teeth and as we grow the situation doesn’t really improve much.  As you get older reasonably straight teeth can turn into bad teeth over night due to different problems like an impacting wisdom tooth.  For this reason many cosmetic dental surgeries are offering improvements to bad teeth, from teeth whitening to veneers and braces.  Hollywood celebrities are frequently getting cosmetic dentistry to get those celebrity teeth to shine on the red carpet.

Disney mega star and daughter of achy breaky co-star singer Billy Ray, Miley Cyrus bad teeth have been fixed.  The teen singer and actress had bad teeth for a while but recently it would appear that Miley has spent some of her hard earned cash on some veneers.  Her teeth used to be a darker and some would say more natural shade as well as having slightly short and crooked canines.  Those days now appear to be behind her as Miley Cyrus’ celebrity status continues to rise.

Tom Cruise is an A-list Hollywood superstar.  After having been in classic films from The Colour Of Money to more recent roles in Tropic Thunder,  Tom Cruise bad teeth have plagued him since he was young.  Tom has a crooked jaw that is out of alignment with his top teeth making his whole mouth appear crooked.  When he was a kid, his teeth were even worse with an enlarged front tooth that looked like it could fall out at any minute.

Not all Hollywood movie stars and rock singers turn to cosmetic surgery, some of them have still made a good living despite having bad teeth.  Morgan Freeman is one of these Hollywood film stars.  Morgan Freeman’s teeth are a mess but it is a testament to the man for not having them fixed.  The star of such films as Wanted and Seven, Morgan Freeman didn’t start his career till later in his life, this could explain why his teeth are in a state.  His teeth are in need of some whitening and his gums appear to be receding and could do with a good once over.

How Can You Recognize Dyslexia Symptoms?

January 11, 2009 by · 3 Comments

Dyslexia is a neurological disorder in which the brain seems to be unable to properly interpret the signals it is receiving from the eyes and sometimes ears. Dyslexia usually shows itself in the difficulties it causes with reading, spelling and converting common words into sounds. It is a widespread condition with perhaps 10-15% of the population showing signs of some form of dyslexia.

In recent times we have learned a great deal about dyslexia, especially in the last 15 years or so. Dyslexia in children is now routinely screened for and detected in elementary school and before. We now know that children with dyslexia learn differently and need special training to overcome the difficulties they might otherwise experience.

Those of us who finished grade school more than 15 years ago had a rougher go of it. Most dyslexics got branded as “slow learners” or “underachievers” and were stygmatized by this type of label. They felt shame and embarrassment and tried hard to conceal their differences.

It is estimated that some 95% of adult dyslexics remain unaware of their condition. A simple readily available dyslexia test could identify their condition and set them on the road to overcoming their dyslexia problem(s).

Dyslexia symptoms in adults include problems with reading, a reluctance to read anything aloud, difficulties in transcribing messages received by phone and being employed in positions below what their intelligence and experience would seem to warrant, these, among a longish list of other related symptoms.

Most of what has been learned about dyslexia comes from clinical studies, focussing on the problems of dyslexia. However, there is also a positive side to dyslexia. Dyslexic people seem to learn to think in different ways from non-dyslexics. They learn to visualize the whole picture rather than the details of the parts. Many excel in fields where this is important, fields such as architecture, graphic arts, acting and business.

This phenomenon is so common and the trend is so pronounced that such people are said to be “blessed with dyslexia”! There are many, many famous people with dyslexia. Famous dyslexics include the actor Tom Cruise, painter Picasso, singer/actress Cher and entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson.

If you, or anyone you know, has any symptoms that might indicate dyslexia, by all means get tested at once. A competent, detailed test is available online, takes half an hour, can be taken from anywhere you have an Internet connection and costs less than dinner for two at a medium-priced restaurant!
