How To Find Social Networking Websites

March 17, 2010 by · 2 Comments

Each day, in the US, millions of Americans communicate with one another online .  As well as conversing with other USA citizens, many are talking with those on the other side of the world.  This communication is due, principally in part, to online social networking web sites.  If you are interested in joining the growing number of Internet users who use social networking internet sites, you will have to find a network to join.

When it comes to finding social networking websites, you’ve a number of different options.  Perhaps, the easiest way to find a social networking website is by performing the standard web search.  You may need to search with the words social networking or social networking websites.  Whichever search phrase you select, there is a good chance that you’re going to be presented with an extensive list of web sites.

You may find and familiarize yourself with social networking websites by speaking to those that you know.  The web, as well as social networks, has speedily increased in popularity.  That recognition suggests that there is a good probability that one of your relatives, friends, coworkers, or neighbours has exploited a explicit social networking site during the past.  In fact, many may have even used more than one.  If you know someone who has, you’ll want to ask them their recommendations.  You’ll find that most social networking websites come highly rated, but there are some out there that might not even be worth spending the time.

As well as talking with those that you really know, you may seek suggestions from those that you do not personally know.  You can do this online .  Online, you should be capable of finding a number of websites that debate social networking websites.  Many of these websites have reviewed a collection of social network websites.  In addition to reviews and other articles, you also should be able to talk with other net users on online bulletin boards.  Like chatting to one of your buddies, many Internet users would be more than ready to let you know what social networking websites are worth using the time and which are not.

even though it is good to receive suggestions from those that you know or other web users, you are advised to make your own decision.  Whether or not a social networking web site comes strongly recommended, you are still encouraged to look at it first.  A sizeable number of social networking websites are free to use ; there are no risks associated with giving the site a try.  Despite the fact that most online networking websites are free to use, there are a few that you have to pay for.  A sizeable number of these internet sites offer free trials.  Even if the test period is only for a few days, you must simply be in a position to get a feel of the site’s environment and identify whether it is good for you.

In your hunt for a social networking site, whether you perform your own web search or rely on recommendations from others, you should be able to find a number of popular internet sites.  Those websites may include, but shouldn’t be restricted to, Yahoo!  360, MySpace, Classmates, and Orkut.  The excellent news about this is that if you aren’t satisfied with the social networking web site you joined, you don’t have to worry ; there are numerous more available for you to make a choice from.

Have You Sell On The Web

Take a moment to think about how you would really answer this question. If given enough thought just about any business owner who utilizes the Internet for any purpose will likely find that whether or not they intentionally organized an Internet marketing campaign, they may already be marketing their products and services on the Internet. This article will examine some subtle ways business owners may already be marketing their business on the Internet.

Do you participate in message boards and include a link to your website in your signature? Again business owners who answer yes to this question are already marketing their website online.

Do you include keywords which are relevant to your business in the content of your website? Business owners who answer yes to this question are also already marketing on the Internet by optimizing their website for these keywords. These search engine optimization (SEO) affects the websites whether or not they were even aware of the concept of keyword density and how it can help to SEO a website.

Are you ready to start being successful and start making money online? It might take a little while for you to get the project payday you’ve been looking for but as long as you’re a treasure trooper, you will be able to generate residual income soon enough.

Do you solicit feedback from your customers online? This is yet another example of how business owners may be accidentally marketing their business on the Internet. Most business owners realize the importance of soliciting feedback from customers for business purposes and business owners who offer products online might solicit feedback in the form of online surveys. Although the business owners may be doing this simply for a business purpose the fact that it is done online makes it fall into the category of Internet marketing.

The first step of an email marketing campaign should be creating an email distribution list. This article will discuss some popular options for doing this and should help to the reader to learn more about what is acceptable and what is not when it comes to email marketing.

One common way to gain a list of email addresses is to purchase a list from distributors. However, this method is not very effective at all and we do not recommend it. The problem with purchasing an email list if you have no way of knowing whether or not the members of the list would have any interest at all in your products or services. This is very important because while you want to reach a large audience with your email marketing you also want this audience to be members of your overall target audience. When you purchase an email list you may be sending your email messages to some users who might be interested but this is largely coincidental and is not likely to be well received because the message was not solicited.

Internet users are very quick to delete materials they believe to be spam without even opening or reading the emails. In fact some Internet service providers include spam filters which may automatically delete your emails if your messages are deemed to be spam.

Using CSS Instead of HTML Tables

October 14, 2009 by · 5 Comments

Times have evolved on the internet and back when you thought coding couldn’t be made any more simple for you to style your websites you were wrong. CSS has taken the basic HTML coding to the next level and again when you thought your coding couldn’t look any neater, you were wrong. CSS doesn’t need the likes of HTML tables and what a fantastic advantage CSS is and I’ll explain why.

In the old days of HTML coding, website designers would have to use the HTML tables tags which made the coding looking untidy. Not only that, without the use of CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) coders would be coding for a lot longer which meant a lot of time was wasted. This all stopped when CSS was introduced and don’t get me wrong, a lot of cross browser problems still occur but it’s such a good transformation to the web design industry all this is worth it.

Cross browser compatibility problems do occur a lot more frequently with the use of CSS because some browsers compile the CSS functions differently and cause the website to be shown differently between most common browsers such as IE7, IE8 and FF. There are many myths and different information on the internet which discusses cross browser compatibility and how coders should only code for the latest browers which are the likes of IE8, FF, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari etc. None of this information is true and if you do only code for the latest browsers, a significant proportion of internet viewers still use Internet Explorer 6 so you’re not allowing for a large amount of internet users who can’t view the sites you code properly.

There are lots of hacks and different CSS functions you can use to cater for the whole internet browsing industry and all you need to do is learn to code for one browser such as Firefox (as recommended by professionals, given that IE7 doesn’t compile the codes correctly) then once you’ve learned to code for one browser you can make the specific changes so your site is viewable in all browsers and on all systems.

3 Things You Must Avoid When Emailing Your List

June 23, 2009 by · 5 Comments

When you decide to build an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your promotional newsletters or catalogs. There are many things to consider in avoiding complications. While there are so many ways you can encourage people to subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to unsubscribe from your list.

Aside from that, you also want to avoid any problems with the law and your internet service provider (ISP). There are now many laws and rules that are applied to help protect the privacy of internet users from spamming and unwanted mails. With the popularity of the electronic mail as a medium for marketing because of the low cost, many companys have seized the opportunity and have flooded many people’s email accounts with promotional mail.

But, with an opt-in list, you avoid this annoyance because people subscribe to the list; they want to receive the newsletters and promotional materials. They have consented to being on the list by subscribing themselves, just don’t forget to put an unsubscribe feature everytime in your opt-in list so that you avoid any confusion. There may be times when an email account was provided when the real owner didn’t want to subscribe.

By the way, if you don’t yet have an email list and could do with some help in making sure that you do everything correctly in building one, check out our free report available from http://ListBuildingBonanza.com.

It is essential that you keep your list clean and manageable. Arrange this by using the many tools and technologies available for your opt-in list. Don’t worry – your investment in this marketing strategy is well worth it with all the coverage you will get which will likely be converted into sales, then to profit.

Keep yourself and your business out of trouble and potential run-ins with the law and the internet service providers. Keep your operation legit and clean. Your reputation as a legitimate businessman and a legitimate site depends on your being a straight and true marketing strategist. As a tip, here are three things to avoid when emailing your list.

1) Take notice of your unsuccessful sends. These are the e-mails that bounce. Bounced emails, also known as undeliverable messages, are those messages that, for whatever reason, were not successfully received by the intended recipient.

There are bounces that happen or occur because the server was busy at that time, but can still be delivered at another time. There are also bounces because the inbox of the recipient is full at that time. There are those bounced messages that are simply undeliverable ever. The reason for this is that it may be an invalid email address, a mis-spelled email address, or an email address that was abandoned and erased already.

Manage your list by putting markings on those that bounce. Erase an email account from your list so that you have an accurate statistics and records as to how many are actually receiving your mail. You may also want to check the spellings of your email addresses in your list. One common mistake is when an N instead of an M is placed in the .com area.

2) Always provide an unsubscribe feature in your site and an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list files a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now sending them spam mail.

When you are reported as a spammer, you and your business can get into a lot of trouble. You can be reported to the authorities and maybe blacklisted by many internet service providers. You will lose a lot of subscribers this way, and many more in potential subscribers.

3) Do not provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your newsletters. It is hard to decipher the age of the recipient and many complaints may stem from these. Controversial issues also are to be avoided in order to not be branded by your subscribers. Stick to the nature of your site and business.

Always remember these three tips so that you can have a healthy relationship with your subscribers as well as be kept within the boundaries of what is allowed in sending mails to an opt-in list.

Friendster Social Marketing

March 25, 2009 by · 6 Comments

Friendster is back from the Web 2.0 graveyard and posted a 40% boost in traffic according to Comscore.  This boost shot their website statistics to 24.7 million unique users last month.

Here’s a little background information on Friendster:

Friendster is available in many different languages. The site has a language link that can change the text displayed on the site to Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Spanish. Users can customize their profiles with things, such as Friendster layout codes or backgrounds.

Friendster is the #1 social network in Indonesia and more than 5 times larger than the next largest social network in Indonesia. In Indonesia, Friendster has over 5 million monthly unique visitors as of November 2008.

Since there are over 25 million Internet users in Indonesia, about 20% percent of Indonesia visited Friendster in November. Online adults (ages 18 and up) choose Friendster to connect with friends, family, school, social groups, activities and interests.

Friendster: Personal and Corporate Use

It is goofy and eccentric, and I have reconnected with a few cherished old friends on the site. Even so, it’s unlikely you’ll find a mate there, but at least you’ll have fun with it.

The site is definitely not ideal for corporate users. Friendster is not an answer to the network question but an experiment in a global Internet environment. While Friendster is not nearly as popular as it was in its heyday, the lessons learned through people’s exploration of it are increasingly critical to the development of new social technologies.
