Pink Damask Crib Bedding: Courtesy And Elegance For Your Little One’s Hideout
Damask crib bedding is one of the choices of many parents who do not want any cartoon character in designing the nursery for their loved little ones. Parents who choose damask to decorate their daughter’s nursery can rest in confidence that they need not surrender their own taste for the sake of creating a beautiful and interesting space for their baby.
Although the origins of damask are still in dispute, it is generally considered that this pattern of repeating botanical and/or animal images most likely started in China, making its way to India and Persia and ultimately a staple export of Damascus, Syria – consequently, the name Damask. This exotic fabric was introduced in Europe by the traders and the more affluent group in Europe who didn’t mind paying too high a price for the luxury created huge demand for it.
Damask has remained very popular and is sold all over to parents who want to create a beautiful room for their little girls. The fact that damask baby bedding is now affordable even for parents that need to watch their pennies makes it even more of an attractive option. Baby girl baby bedding in damask is available in two ways. You can find damask and nothing but damask on various ensembles which are perfect for damask aficionados and damask purists or you can find ensembles which blend damask with other colors and patterns to tone down the damask just a bit.
Parents who want to go for damask bedding set for their baby should check two prominent damask sets of Jo Jo Designs in which it has beautifully introduced modern colors into the traditional elegancy of the fabric that has been a part of damask sets from ancient times. Two lovely sets are the Bella Pink and the Bella Turquoise, each blending turquoise with pink and some shade of warm brown. Its traditional floral design brings to mind the luxurious bedding found in the sleeping quarters of the children of noblemen of past ages.
The Pink Taffy set, a fresh offering from New Arrivals may have what you need if you wish to decorate your little girl’s room with damask but would like to tone down its impact by combining other designs and you would do well to look it up when you go out shopping for baby bedding. Your daughter’s nursery can have the sophistication you want with adding some damask bedding for your baby.
The Riley collection by Ally Taylor with their rich patterned scroll-like fabrics in colors of spring green against a white background and having an informal black and white gingham border, may also take you by surprise. With a damask bedding set, you will be able to create such a peaceful and beautiful space for your daughter that you can look forward to spending many a happy hour with her in that room for sure.
How To Find Social Networking Websites
March 17, 2010 by Jason58 · 2 Comments
Each day, in the US, millions of Americans communicate with one another online . As well as conversing with other USA citizens, many are talking with those on the other side of the world. This communication is due, principally in part, to online social networking web sites. If you are interested in joining the growing number of Internet users who use social networking internet sites, you will have to find a network to join.
When it comes to finding social networking websites, you’ve a number of different options. Perhaps, the easiest way to find a social networking website is by performing the standard web search. You may need to search with the words social networking or social networking websites. Whichever search phrase you select, there is a good chance that you’re going to be presented with an extensive list of web sites.
You may find and familiarize yourself with social networking websites by speaking to those that you know. The web, as well as social networks, has speedily increased in popularity. That recognition suggests that there is a good probability that one of your relatives, friends, coworkers, or neighbours has exploited a explicit social networking site during the past. In fact, many may have even used more than one. If you know someone who has, you’ll want to ask them their recommendations. You’ll find that most social networking websites come highly rated, but there are some out there that might not even be worth spending the time.
As well as talking with those that you really know, you may seek suggestions from those that you do not personally know. You can do this online . Online, you should be capable of finding a number of websites that debate social networking websites. Many of these websites have reviewed a collection of social network websites. In addition to reviews and other articles, you also should be able to talk with other net users on online bulletin boards. Like chatting to one of your buddies, many Internet users would be more than ready to let you know what social networking websites are worth using the time and which are not.
even though it is good to receive suggestions from those that you know or other web users, you are advised to make your own decision. Whether or not a social networking web site comes strongly recommended, you are still encouraged to look at it first. A sizeable number of social networking websites are free to use ; there are no risks associated with giving the site a try. Despite the fact that most online networking websites are free to use, there are a few that you have to pay for. A sizeable number of these internet sites offer free trials. Even if the test period is only for a few days, you must simply be in a position to get a feel of the site’s environment and identify whether it is good for you.
In your hunt for a social networking site, whether you perform your own web search or rely on recommendations from others, you should be able to find a number of popular internet sites. Those websites may include, but shouldn’t be restricted to, Yahoo! 360, MySpace, Classmates, and Orkut. The excellent news about this is that if you aren’t satisfied with the social networking web site you joined, you don’t have to worry ; there are numerous more available for you to make a choice from.

Biomass Fuels and Their Place in the Alternative Power Race
February 6, 2010 by Jason58 · 4 Comments
With the cost of electrical power and gas prices reaching astronomical levels these days, alternative forms of power are becoming a more appealing option these days. There is solar power, hydroelectric power and even wind power. Another possibility is bio mass fuels. The great thing about biomass is that it is renewable. Biomass comes from organic materials such as yard clippings, wood chips, sawdust, branches, manure and miscellaneous paper materials as well. There are quite a bit more types of organic material that could be used as a potential biomass fuel source.
The appeal of biomass fuel is that it is a renewable source of energy and greatly reduces the level of pollution output as well as landfills. Biomass fuels could be used in rural or indigent areas with ease because of its renewable properties. This source of energy could be used to produce heat, steam, and electricity or even for transportation purposes.
Globally, biomass fuel is the low man on the totem pole when it comes to the first source of energy consumption for people. Developing countries percentage of biomass consumption tends to be higher statistically than the world’s leading economic countries. Places like India get about thirty-five percent of the fuel in biomass form. In the United States, it is less than five percent. Is it any wonder why the United States has a pollution problem?
One of the reasons why biomass fuel isn’t more popular is that it creates only a third of the energy than coal-based sources. However, the upside is that with biomass, it is renewable and you are not draining the world’s non-renewable coal sources. Back in the 1990s when the oil business was enjoying its heyday, biomass plants in the United States were reduced by half. However, due to the rising prices of oil and electricity, there has been renewed interest in biomass fuels as an alternative source of power.
Depending on the scientific research study you read, biomass does produce close to the same about of carbon dioxide as fossil fuels. However, with biomass, it is not toxic to the carbon dioxide loving plants, to that creates somewhat of a balance, unlike with polluting fossil fuels. The downside to biomass fuels is that it is more expensive to produce than using natural gas or coal for electricity. Therefore, scientists are trying to find ways to streamline the process so it is more affordable.
If biomass fuels can be created more cheaply, then the whole world would reap the benefits of fewer landfills and a reduction of the greenhouse effect. This positive effect produces a chain reaction of great things. For instance, by reducing the landfills, there is less chance of pollutants leaking into the groundwater and contaminating it. The air is cleaner too because biomass production would be in a controlled atmosphere to ensure that the residue from biomass is contained. Biomass production will also create additional jobs and boost the economy in those areas where production occurs.
The bottom line is that biomass fuels are becoming a more attractive alternative as a power source. Its greatest impact will be to those developing nations as well as those people who live in remote areas and have no resources for natural gas and coal. In addition, with bringing biomass production to these countries, you will see employment go up and the people’s way of life greatly improve because they are earning a paycheck.
Perhaps in the near future, our governments will finally take the depletion of our natural resources such as coal a little more seriously. When that happens, biomass fuels will be one of the frontrunners as a viable renewable source of power for transportation and the home.

What do you buy for the man who has it all? Jewelry is not just for women to wear and men to buy. The Bangkok Gems and Jewelery show takes place twice a year and remains one of the most important and sophisticated wholesale silver jewelry trade shows in the world with many truly first class manufacturers exhibiting their latest designs. However, even this hazard can work positively and can be used as a step-ahead as soon as you learn where to look. The search results will typically contain companies such as online free jewelry making catalog buyers, pawn shops and jewelry stores. The main advantage of owning a diamond necklace or pendant, pair of diamond earrings, and diamond bracelet that matches together perfectly is the fact that you will not have to question what to wear with what.
It is no surprise many people are experiencing difficult times in this economy. For this reason, it is essential that job seekers know basic e-mail etiquette. Green Noni Fruits are golden to pickers in South Pacific
November 1, 2009 by Jason58 · 3 Comments
Morinda Citrifolia is usually referred to as as Indian Mulberry (India) or Nonu (Pacific Islands) or just Noni (Hawaii).
The large Morinda Citrifolia trees grown in pretty much in any volcanic soil and are extremely hardy. They can be found at sea level near salt water and all the way into the high altitude valleys. The thick trees can grow to 20 meters in height and are quite aggressive once established in an area. These fast growing pants are not garden friendly. Noni Fruit is extremely strong in taste and as a result is not usually consumed alone – certainly not raw. The Morinda Citrifolia fruit main benefit that has been found to have good affects the human body. Especially the immune and cardiovascular systems. As a result it has become the focus of expanded testing and study in research labs.
The commercial potential of the Noni fruit first came to light in the early 1990’s. Advances in food processing technology and pasteurization techniques made the bottling of Noni puré possible. Just in time shipping systems solved the distribution problems other had faced. An entire industry has grown up around the harvesting of the fruit in the South Pacific Islands.
The popularity of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice literally created the super juice industry. Tahitian Noni International grew at exponential rates for several years. Then companies like Xango and other companies using the Acai Berry entered the growing healthy beverage market to see if they could get a share of the sales. Success and the establishing of a new market always brings imitators and competitors but TNI has stood the test of time and seems to have won the day.
Research shows that TAHITIAN NONI Studies show that drinking three to four ounces of TAHITIAN NONI® Juice a day helps maintain cholesterol at existing normal levels. Noni Juice is a practical, healthy addition to any diet. TAHITIAN NONI Juice distributors like ourselves can explain the benefits.

The Dell Inspiron 910 Mini: Read This First
October 4, 2009 by Jason58 · 7 Comments
Having been amongst the first to purchase the Dell 910 Mini I wanted to share my experience with others that might be thinking about acquiring this item or one of the other sub-notebook or ‘netbooks’ as they have become known. I manage a web design agency and I’ve been contemplating the idea of getting a more modern laptop as my old Dell Inspiron from 2003 is as heavy as a brick.
Shortly after having retired the old Dell to my girlfriends house (I couldn’t face lugging it back and forwards any longer so it just lives there now, I might well do the same with myself one of these days soon!) it stopped charging and wouldn’t run from the mains, so eventually when I gave it to my tech to repair he found out that it was one of the known faulty models, the 5150 which developed a problem with the motherboard overheating after prolonged use, this I found out about 2 years after they stopped replacing them as part of a class action lawsuit, shame I’m two years too late to get it replaced for free!
Ah well what’s 150 quid for a factory refurbished Motherboard off ebay, compared with years of loyal service in spite of being dropped a couple of times, spat on repeatedly, eaten over and all manner of other not recommended usage styles! I even used to have it hooked up to my TV via the onboard S-VHS port and watch films on it, so it has seen some action, oh yes!
However, this was all inspired by my step dad who just bought a top of the range Toshiba Portege at around £1,200, but he’s at that time in life where 1,200 quid is affordable, where as I’m still in financial recovery from my last divorce (yes there was more than one!)! So I stumbled across an ad for the Dell Inspiron 910 Mini on the Dell website whilst looking at specs of laptops for a customer, and there it was £299 inc VAT and delivery. What a bargain I thought!
Anyway there I was credit card on hot standby, wrist twitching ready to make a purchase, but wait a minute I thought, why am I buying this, do I really need it? No, I don’t NEED it I just HAVE TO HAVE ONE! So then some sensibility came over me and I put my credit card away, feeling all pleased with myself at having managed to resist an impulse purchase!
However, the next day my step Dad needs me to take a look at his new machine because he can’t get the music software to work and can’t get it to see the other computers that are on our network (this job for me, comes with the territory!) So I happen to have to work on this ultra lightweight Toshiba , wow I’m amazed at how small it is, especially compared to my old Dell 5150! I wish I could afford one of these I thought! I noticed he didn’t have my recommended security software installed though. For internet security I use Avast Anti Virus and Spybot Search & Destroy, which as well as being free, are just great programs.
The following day I had to go to a customers and as the appointement was first thing in the morning I went straight there from my girlfriends house and took the old laptop with me (which gives me a great excuse to call in on my way back and drop it off, coincidentally around about lunchtime when there might be the chance of a ham, cheese and salad sandwich on the go! Yum, she is soooo good to me!) So anyway, I about put my back out trying to put this incredibly heavy laptop in the car passenger foot well whilst sitting in the drivers’ seat! One of those ‘put your back out’ manoeuvres. So having experienced the new lightweight machines first hand, and realised I do have a genuine NEED for the new Dell Inspiron mini after all, weighing in at around 1kg, you know I planned to get that credit card out again as soon as possible!
So as I had a management meeting that afternoon I informed my Finance Manager I would be ordering one and that was that. It was Friday October 3rd when I placed the order on the Dell website, and on the 8th I got back from a customer meeting to find a small cardboard box on my desk with the Dell log on the side, I thought it couldn’t possibly be the new mini as the confirmation email I got said it would arrive on or around the 20th October, but sure enough it really had arrived!
So I’m like a kid in a sweet shop thinking “best day ever” (See Heroes Season 3), I was ecstatic and carefully unpacked it, tossing instructions and disks to one side of course, “read those later” I thought. I got it out and started setting it up straight away, you know remove McAfee Security Centre and all the other junk software these things come with these days. Why they can’t just send you a blank windows installation I don’t know, more advertising!
As it has an integrated web cam I also downloaded Windows Live Messenger and had a quick video chat with my missus whilst she was doing her ironing, fantastic! So next I Googled ‘mobile broadband suppliers’ and toyed with ordering the USB dongle from Three, as their 5GB monthly allowance is only 15 quid a month so the best looking deal, providing those coverage stories you hear about Three Mobile are not really true! (Update: Yes the coverage is lousy in all the areas I want to use it, even at my desk I have to connect the dongle to a USB cable and hang it from my roof to get 1 bar signal strength, buy another brand!)
Anyway, it was soon time to go and pick up my daughter from school so I thought yeah I’ll take it with me and even though I don’t have the mobile broadband dongle yet I can continue configuring it in car park if I’m early. I was early, so I turned it on, it said:
Windows could not start because of an error in the software.
Please report this problem as :
load needed DLLs for kernel.
Please contact your support person to report this problem
As we say in England from the popular Catherine Tate sketch “Computer says no…”
Ah dear, it was great fun whilst it lasted, all of about 2 and a half minutes! Then followed a 2 and a half hour telephone marathon with Dell support in India
Apparently they were so quick to ship it to me that my service tag isn’t on their system yet. Service Tag? What does that have to do with it not booting up?
Having not been able to lookup the service tag on the system (something to do with software licensing) they said they couldn’t send me a replacement yet, I was furious as it is such a simple issue to resolve, but they simply refused until the service tag was registered on their system!
They suggested I called back in 24-48 hours, well I explained to them exactly what I thought of their suggestion as I’m sure you can image, but to no avail. I did indeed have to call back today and they have agreed to send me a replacement unit as it is within 7 days of delivery.
I hope the replacement arrives as promptly as the original unit did…
So conclusion? Apart from the fact it doesn’t work (a faulty drive in my opinion) and for the life of me I can’t get it to boot from an external drive or USB key (it doesn’t have a CD or DVD drive you know) it feels really solid, looks lovely, and is nice to handle (sounds a bit like the ideal partner to an i-phone 2.0 doesn’t it!).
Like most reviewers have stated , the keys are small (but blackberry users manage and they are larger than those keys) and the right shift key is tiny and means you can’t type an @ in the usual fashion. But the screen is nice, 3 USB slots, a monitor connector, Ethernet and earphones and mic connectors although it has both speakers and mic internally so you can Live Messenger without having to plug anything in.
On the whole, I would recommend it, providing you get one that boots up! I am also yet to try it with LogMeIn which is my preferred way of dealing with how to access emails, lots of passwords, specialist software and all that kind of thing when you are out and about. Possibly the screen is going to be too small to be able to work with for extended periods of time, but I’ll let you know when the replacement arrives and I have had chance to give it a proper testing, assuming that one doesn’t break on me as soon as I start urm ‘configuring’ it!
Further Update: So I have had the Dell Mini for about erm, wow nearly 12 months! It would never work with LogMeIn over the 3 dongle. To be fair Three were very helpful, until we took the dongle out and successfully used it in another one of my computers and were able to connect on LogMeIn without any problems, at this point they referred me to Dell, at which point I lost interest!
It is all to do with one of the browser settings, not remembering itself when you select the check box and hit Apply. I can’t remember which one it was now, and maybe ie 8 will have fixed the problem or it might work on Firefox browser instead, I just never got round to trying to sort it out again and tend to use the Mini more now to read the news in bed with my cup of tea in the morning.
It is too fiddly to use for really extended periods but it is great for checking your email when you’re out and about, or for a quick impulse surf when you can’t be bothered to turn the main pc on and you want to remind yourself what other films that actor or actress was in for example!I think one of these lcd monitors connected to this machine externally would work really well, because you could use it in the office and then just take it with you when you go out.
It’s a great little machine though and also works quite well down the pub, because I can even fit it in the pocket of my big coat, and that is proper cool, except it doesn’t like beer puddles much so I tend to avoid taking it most of the time, unless I know I’m going to need to log on, but then the pub has got a sexy new Mac which is already covered in beer so I prefer to use that (any excuse to get behind the bar really!)What is so magical about being able to go behind the bar at your local anyway? I suspect if I actually worked there it would soon wear off!
In summary though it has not had any hardware problems since the initial replacement was received. On the whole I have found that Dell kit tends to be pretty reliable anyway, especially when you are dealing with the more business based items whereas this is obviously more consumer focussed. With a Dell or most new PC’s if they are going to go wrong they will usually do so within the first 6 months of use and generally after that they will keep going until recommended service intervals such as changing the disks after a couple of years and that kind of thing.
It should be pointed out though that these mini Dell laptops/netbooks, call them what you will, do not having a regular hard disk drive inside them. A normal hard drive has a disk inside it that physically spins round and a ‘head’ which moves backwards and forwards over the sectors quite like the relationship between the stylus and the tracks on an old fashion vinyl record !
The hard drives within the Dell mini, and other netbooks too I should image, are solid state, that is to say they are rather like USB flash drives or memory keys. In fact I think from a picture I saw they look more like RAM memory chips all joined together than a single physical device. The advantage of using solid state memory over traditional hard drives is that they use less power, they are not as heavy and they are quieter. Much quieter. If you’re like me you will have noticed how computers have got a lot noisier over the last 10 years, as they have got more powerful.
My Dell Mini is blissfully quiet in comparison to any of my other computers, desktops or laptops. Although if you are auditorily hyper-sensitive to sound like I am then you can notice a very slight hum or whine when you give it something to do that requires it to access the hard drive. Most people probably won’t notice this but if you are familiar with the faint hum from your mobile phone charger or other devices of that ilk that transform power from one state to another then you might know what I am talking about. It certainly isn’t a problem though, although the power adapter for the machine itself does make some odd noises if you listen to it closely.
My favourite aspect of this machine is that in some it elicits the same response as having a small puppy or kitten out and about with you, especially down the pub where if you get it out to a bunch of girls you can hear the ooh and ahhh’s of girls who think something is cute! That is priceless!
Ideas For Exotic Chicken Recipes
September 28, 2009 by Jason58 · 2 Comments
Using up leftovers while still creating a tasty meal is tricky, especially on a budget. A good solution is to try a delicious mexican chicken recipe. Arroz con Pollo is affordable, very simple to prepare, tastes delicious and can be changed to use any ingredients you have available. Best of all you’ll only have a single pot to wash up afterwards. For this dish, your chicken should be skinless and boneless, and cut into small chunks.
Make sure that you have 200 grams of long-grain white rice and never to forget that in order to get your ingredients use quality rice and finally a can of tomatoes. Good vegetables to have with chicken include zucchini, bell peppers and sweetcorn. The sweeter taste of red or yellow bell peppers will complement the chicken better than green. Although it’s not strictly an authentic Mexican ingredient, butternut squash also works very well in rice dishe’s.
I was hoping to find some good italian chicken recipe, since my boyfriend is Italian and always raves about the chicken his mother makes. My idea of an Italian chicken recipe is to throw some canned tomato sauce over a chicken breast. I just don’t think this will make him happy. Please don’t suggest something that is difficult, I am a completely inexperienced cook. Because I do not plan to add five pounds in a sitting I would prefer eating a healthy diet. I have a countertop grill, and a microwave. My stove oven is currently broken but the burners work.
I have the unfortunate problem that while my oven turns on, it will not heat above 200 degrees, therefore making it unsafe and unsuitable to to properly cook chicken in it. So, if anyone has any Italian chicken recipes that fit those criteria, I would really appreciate it! I read where medical researchers found that curry, or rather the compound in curry that makes it yellow, helped unstick some plaque in mice that had Alzheimer’s Disease (dementia). Research hopes to find a way to reduce the brain plaque buildup which is believed to be the main cause of Alzheimer’s Disease.
This plaque is what blocks the brain from working properly and then that part dies, cutting off the pathways for short-term memory first, then it progresses from there. The article said that India has the lowest rate for Alzheimer’s anywhere, and they eat a lot of curry. I know someone in the early stages of this disease and she loves chicken. It doesn’t matter where we go to eat, she always orders chicken. I think curry can go in a lot of different foods but I’m going to be looking for a new indian chicken recipe that she might like, or maybe try that new Indian restaurant. I know she’ll order the chicken. Even though the research isn’t complete, it sounded very promising, and it can’t hurt.

Eliminate Wrinkles with Facial Exercises
Not everyone understands that wrinkling is a natural part of life. The skin decreases in quality due to stress and other factors, but most commonly due to age. Naturally, aging is part of the human condition. It is not a negative process at all! But there are people out there who are deeply concerned and adamant to do anything to look young and fresh no matter what.
As we age, our skin loses moisture and elasticity making it prone to wrinkles. Although let’s face it, nobody wants to look like a zombie or a living corpse. That’s why people flock to beauty stores to get their hands on the latest anti aging wrinkle creams. These products are so famous for its ability to improve the skin’s texture. Almost all promise a moisturizing effect and a way to fight off the damaging UV rays. Wherever you look countless television ads, billboards and magazines have their own way of lessening the chances of you having saggy cheeks, pale skin color and an unattractive jaw-line. And the curious person that you are, you religiously listen to all of them, hoping against hope that you will be spared of the aging phenomenon. As much as you would like that to happen, inevitably your skin would age. Whether you like it or not, you won’t be 18 forever. This unwanted occurrence has been explained by skin specialists. Here are a few of the reasons why we end up looking like raisins in the future:
- the sun is the main culprit, with its UV rays damaging the skin condition. Exposure to the sun destroys the collagen and fibers which support your skin, keeping it bouncy. When these fibers stiffen, the skin droops, and creases into wrinkles.
- smoking activates the release of free radicals, which are highly reactive molecules that also damages the skin
- unhealthy eating habits, especially the lack of fruits and vegetables in the diet; our skin needs the vitamins and minerals from these foods to regenerate and rejuvenated the cells
- can be inherited from your parents
- the collagen found on our skin becomes used up, this deteriorates our muscles making our skin to sag as a result
Dermatologists have many tools for tackling those little lines that mark the passage of time. They include:
- see a certified skin expert or if money is not a problem, go see a plastic surgeon (although this is option is not for everybody)
- prescription creams, chemical peels, and injections of the toxin Botox, which paralyses facial muscles momentarily
- Pile your plate with plenty of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. These provide vitamins A, C and E – antioxidants that block harmful free radicals before they can cause skin damage.
- Exfoliate your skin twice weekly. This eliminates dead, dry skin cells, and encourages the production of healthy new cells. Smooth, exfoliated skin absorbs moisturizer better, and so is better hydrated.
If you’re tired of spending too much money on making your skin look radiant, here is a fresher and cheaper approach in making your skin look younger. Facial exercises will do a great deal to promote a smooth and wrinkle-free skin, and a vibrant glowing picture of health. There’s an olden system of traditional medicine native to India known as Ayurveda. This science promotes the use of massage and facial exercises which they believe will help slow down the aging process and lessens the chance of having wrinkles.
These non surgical face lift will not take a great effort or too much time in achieving a smoother skin. You can’t get more cost-effective than these facial exercises. The lines, wrinkles, folds and bags in our faces are not really wrinkles and lines as such, but are the supportive muscles in your face going soft – losing firmness, and not supporting the skin any more. Facial exercises can help you with creating that facelift look without having any surgeries.
Wrinkled skin bears no relation to your worth as a person. People do not love you for your wrinkles, or lack thereof. By maintaining a healthy skin you will only develop subtle wrinkles, which will trace your most frequent facial expressions. Smile!

Fitting a rug into your room has become a necessity for any room redesign and more people are looking for natural alternatives
When it comes to natural area rugs, you have many options to choose from. You should consider look, feel, value and longevity of the material that you are considering for your area rug. The most common materials are Sisal, Jute, Bamboo and Seagrass.
Sisal
Sisal is a fibers come from the leaves of the Agave Sisalana plant that is grown as a renewable resource. The useable leaves of the plant can produce approximately a thousand fibers. The fibers range in color from a creamy white to straw yellow and are spun into yarn and then woven into carpet. Sisal can be a bit tough on the feet, but is frequently combined with wool or nylon for a softer feel. The rugs are durable, provide sound absorption, anti-static, naturally insulating and fire resistant.
They are not recommend for outdoor areas as they don’t do well with water. For this reason, you also want to keep them out of the bathroom and away from the kitchen sink.
Jute
Jute rugs are made from an easily replenished resource (the Jute plant). The plant has fibrous stalks and they are woven into a yarn. The rugs are woven with loop or flat construction, and are popular for use throughout the home.
Natural jute has little variation in color ranging from a very light brown to a creamy brown but can be bleached to a beautiful ecru color or dyed and then woven to create more decorative colored patterns. This ability to create more ornate paterns differentiates it from many other natural fiber.
The yarn comes in different weights and textures used to get different effects in the rugs that are made. You will find fine and silky fibers make a soft luster which brings an air of softness to home decor, thicker fibers make larger patterns when woven making a more rustic designed rug.
Bamboo
Bamboo has long been used for flooring in Asian countries. It is environmentally friendly since it is one of the fastest growing plants on the planet and there is a abundant, plentiful supply available. It can also be harvested every few years without harming the host plant.
Bamboo makes strong and beautiful area rugs. They are woven from natural bamboo fibers and feature natural variations in color; yellows, beiges and green.
These rugs are an perfect flooring option for many interior design goals. They can be used as a runner, or a central rug in a family room, kitchen or office. They offer texture and style to your room’s décor in a simple and integrated way.
Seagrass
Seagrass rugs are woven by using actual seagrass from coastal regions around the world. Most come from paddy fields in Southeast Asia, but can also come from India, South America and Costal Africa. They have been used for centuries in Asian homes for the simplistic beauty and strength.
The seagrass leaves are non-porous and feel silky smooth to the touch. Once harvested, the long strands of seagrass are naturally dried and then spun into yarns. Seagrass area rugs are long-lasting, stain resistant and come in warm light tan shades with undertones of green.
Because of the non-porous nature of the seagrass leaves, seagrass is not available in colors beyond its own natural state (slightly green). Their coloring will become less green over time and the eventually the color will turn to a beautiful, neutral tan/yellow. The main variations in these rugs is due to the patern used when woven. You can find rugs with patterns such as Herringbone and Basketweave.
