What to Look For In A Cheap Web Hosting Provider

July 4, 2009 by · 5 Comments

If you have made the decision to switch from your expensive web host to a cheaper web host to host your website, you may be a bit overwhelmed over the thousands of cheap web hosting providers available on the internet. When choosing a web host, you will want to make sure that the provider is reliable, continues to update the server hardware and software, and has excellent customer service. You should also check the customer testimonials.

Nothing is more frustrating to a business website owner than the web host being down. This happens occasionally, even for the best ones, but if you can’t get in touch with the web hosting provider, it can prove to be disastrous.. Imagine not being able to have your customers reach your website for days! The revenue that you lose could be astronomical!

So while price may be a consideration when choosing a cheap web hosting provider, it should not be the only consideration. As mentioned, one of the most important things to look for in a cheap web host is good customer service, and as part of a great service is the possiblity to purchase not only web hosting, but also cheap domains online. Who knows? – Perhaps you will feel like to expand your business in the future and having one provider for all web hosting related services can prove to be very efficient!.

Yes – a web host can be good even though they’re low cost.

You would also want to check out the space available on the cheap web hosting plan, as well as the bandwidth allotted for your website. Bandwidth is what allows customers to visit your site, and it’s important that it’s big enough to handle all your incoming visitors.

You should be extra concerned about the space; even if the space that you have now seems to be sufficient, you may want to expand your website at one point in time.

Another important feature You should check out is if you are allowed to add additional sites to the hosting plan (called addons).. There are many different ways to earn money with websites on the internet, and by hosting several of your own sites, the sky is the limit when it comes to internet income.

I Have Been Looking For The Best Travel Deals Online

June 7, 2009 by · 6 Comments

I’ve been doing quite a bit of research into the world of travel websites and how best to save money on vacation travel. Of particular interest is trying to find the best hotel deals online.

Of course travel is a huge category at search engines like Google and Live Search, and there are tons of websites that offer to help us find the best pricing. Some are well known because of all their advertising on TV and elsewhere. But there are lots of websites that I had never heard of, all of them wanting to set me up with hotel reservations or other services.

I have come to the opinion that there is no magic source for travel deals, but there are numerous great sources that will help us get the best possible pricing assuming your brother-in-law isn’t the CEO of say Starwood Hotels.

One option is to use a website that runs your search on several other travel sites and airline sites; they basically organize the search for you. That’s helpful to a point, but since major websites like Travelocity offer a low-price guarantee, you’re not likely to see big differences in price most of the time, even when checking a lot of other competing sites.

Some of the websites will monitor prices for you over time, to grab any great travel deals or airfare discounts that come along. That works OK if you start early enough in advance of your trip to let them watch for you. And, of course, you can look for last-minute deals at nearly all the major websites; they usually have a page or more just for such specials. That option requires that you have quite a bit of flexibility in your travel plans.

It might be best to find a major travel site that offers all the important search options, last-minute deals, price guarantee, etc., and also has a well-established track record of top-notch customer service. A great deal on a hotel room doesn’t mean much if the reservation is lost or the hotel doesn’t know anything about the special price you found online. So my inclination is to stay away from the secondary travel sites for the most part.

How To Make Money With Article Directories

March 26, 2009 by · 4 Comments

Article directories are websites that contain a lot of articles. Most of these articles are usually put there by the one that owns the copyright to them, and usually as a promotion method.

The way to make money with an article directory is to supply each article with your byline placed under it, so that everyone reading the article will a) know who wrote it, and b) will be able to visit your website to gather more information. By repeatedly using this method, people who are interested in your product or service will notice your articles, view you as knowledgeable about the topic, and may even end up visiting your website.

Even if you can not write anything about on the topic which you are promoting, you can always hire a writer to do the work for you. Getting top quality articles written is usually very expensive, however they will eventually pay for themselves, through affiliate sales (if you are promoting as an affiliate), or selling your own services.

Here’s a real life example. Let’s pretend that you are an accountant working from home, and you decide to write an article on a topic you feel familiar with; accounting. You then post it to various article directories. Those who are searching for information on the topic you wrote about will find, and read your article. They will notice that you indeed have the knowledge and skill they are looking for in order to some work for them, and ends up visiting your website to contact you.

The article you wrote just landed you a new client! This client may even decide to use your services regularly, and end up giving you a nice recurring profit. Now remember, since you have posted it on not one, but serveral free article directories, many others who have affiliate websites about accounting will find and use your article on their own website. The great thing about this, is that since they must attach your byline to it, they will help bringing you even more exposure – and sales!

There are several article directories out there for you to post your articles on. Your best course of action is to put a copy of each of your articles on as many as you can find for maximum exposure. This will eventually help to bring more traffic and customers to your website, which will lead to even more new orders and more profit!

Isn’t MLM One of Those Pyramid Schemes?

February 2, 2009 by · 2 Comments

This is a question that we often get asked.  And the answer of course is “Definitely Not!”  Though MLM and pyramid schemes may seem to share some similarities, there’s a BIG difference which makes MLM legal and pyramiding ILLEGAL.

In pyramid schemes, income is generated solely on the process of recruiting others into the pyramid. Sometimes a product or service of questionable value is involved, but you are most often buying into the right to recruit others and collect money.

This is illegal!  Also, in pyramid schemes, those who get in first and are at the top win, while everyone else loses.

In a legitimate MLM company, representatives are paid only on the movement of products or selling of services, not merely recruiting.

Sometimes, there’s also compensation based on the training and managing of your marketing team.

Also, in an MLM company, no matter where you are positioned or when you joined, you can advance to the very highest income levels, and pass those who sponsor you.

Multi Level Marketing is nothing more that a business model that uses independent distributors with a multi level commission payout plan to move products from production to the consumer.

But you ask, “Isn’t the shape of an MLM organization similar to a pyramid?”  And the answer to that question is yes, but that is true of all hierarchical organizations.  For example, the shape of all normal businesses is in the shape of a pyramid.  There is something like a President or CEO, several Vice Presidents, more Division Directors, Group Directors, and finally the workers that make up the bulk of the workforce.  Each level down has more people at that level.

The same holds true for governmental departments, and the military.  At the top of a governmental department, there is the Secretary, then Deputy Secretaries, Assistant Secretaries, heads of lesser groupings and then the mass of workers.

All these organizations are shaped like a pyramid, so it is not the shape of the organization that makes a difference.  It has to do with the actual selling or not selling of products of value.  If real products are being sold and consumed, and the movement of these products from production to the end consumer is the primary purpose of the business, then generally the company is a legal entity.

If the primary purpose of the company is to simply recruit more and more members and there is no real product of value being sold, then you have a illegal operation.  Chain letters are an example of this kind of activity.

What makes a MLM company different from a traditional retail company is the manner in which the sales force is paid. In traditional retail and direct sales companies, the salesperson is a company employee and earns a commission on only the products he or she sells directly.  In MLM companies the salesperson is not an employee of the company, but rather an independent distributor.

The magic of MLM is that independent distributors earn commissions not only for their own efforts, but also on the efforts of other distributors that they recruit into the business.  Earning 1% of a hundred peoples efforts is always better than earning 100% on your own efforts, as John Paul Getty noted.

The term “multi level” comes from the process where by one distributor recruits other people to become distributors and the new distributors are placed under them in what is known as a downline.  Each distributor is paid a retail commission on the products they sell themselves, and a wholesale commission on the products their downline sells (down to some designated level).

The larger downline a distributor can recruit, the larger will be his or her commissions as they will earn a wholesale override commission on all the products moved by their downline organization down to the designated level.  These commissions can add up quickly for distributors with large downlines.

Nevertheless, a controversial new ebook has recently been published that reveals why prospecting and recruiting is actually destroying many MLM businesses… why a business opportunity is literally the last thing you want to be selling… and… how to make money REGARDLESS of whether you sponsor anyone in a MLM business or not!  Click here to learn more => The Renegade Network Marketer

Are You Using Free Hosting Services?

January 18, 2009 by · 4 Comments

Free web hosting is in many cases the most basic web hosting service that you can sign up with, and there are many free hosting providers available on the internet. The companies providing the free hosting accounts usually finance this by ads on the web sites that are hosted.

Another feature about free web hosting services – they are usually extremely limited. If you get a free hosting service, you are forced to have ads on the top and perhaps even on the bottom of your website, and depending on what your website is all about, it may not fit at all. However, if you are amongst those just starting out on the internet, a free hosting account may very well be the best option, since you probably don’t have a lot of traffic, or just a small site.

The type of domain that you receive when you sign up for a free web hosting account is usually a subdomain with the name that you pick (yourname.somefreewebhost.com) or a name in a directory (somefreewebhost.com/yourname). For example, if the name of your free host is the000webhost.com, then your web domain would be yourbusiness.the000webhost.com.

If you are a newbie, this is the type of account that you would probably want to get, but you should be aware of some of the shortcomings this sort of free web hosting account has, especially if you are looking for more advanced options:

Firstly, many free hosting accounts do not support databases. Databases are usually used for online data retrieval routines, or to manage dynamic content on your site, such as a wordpress blog. Many of these free web hosting sites do not even support the most widely used package called mySQL!

Secondly, the free webhosts may not support multiple email accounts; in fact they only give you one email account, which is usually a web based internet account (aka webmail).

However, recently some new companies has emerged, that will in fact give you a free hosting account without the recenly mentioned shortcomings; you get PHP, mySQL, email accounts and lots more! One of them is a free webhosting service found at the000webhost.com. They even allow you to host your own domain (a perfect reason to finally purchase a domain of your own), and you are not forced to display ads or anything like that. How’s that for an improvement!

The downside? – They will disable your account after 15 days without traffic, which could be a problem if you are just starting out. Some would call it a blessing, since it will force you to come up with new and fresh ways to generate web traffic to your site.
