Drop Ship Web Sites: A Easy Method To Start In eCommerce

July 31, 2009 by

If you are a experienced e-commerce professional, you have no doubt have read about drop shipping. But if you are a newbie, you may not know that you can go into business on the web with no inventory! How can you accomplish this? You find dropshipping directory to ship or ‘fulfill’ your sales on your behalf. You just collect the customer’s money – buy the merchandise from your wholesaler, and they send it to your customer with your name on the paperwork.

All you have to do to start a drop ship business is a web site, a method to take credit cards (PayPal is great for starters), and a product to offer! There are many drop ship supplier directories on the internet. You need to be cautious, however about using these services. Some of them are simply obsolete lists with old or bad information. Use care when you purchase access to a directory of drop shippers.

The best drop ship vendors directories give you the actual name and address of the vendor companies. That is what you want; avoid services that tell you they also sell products – they are usually a middleman and you will pay high prices for your products. Avoid a middleman, you won’t be able to price your products at a competitive level.

The Internet has created a new class of business opportunities to those who are not afraid to spend some of their effort and money to learn the basics. You don’t need a huge inventory of merchandise to begin selling online. Drop shipping is a great, low-risk way to get started.

Do some internal linking. Connect all your internal pages to one another as well to the home page. Create traffic to the internal as well by promoting them online, by doing some seo obviously.

Thank you Sajid. Alas, a fellow supporter of e-commerce. It has made so many things much easier and has even taken away borders from so many out there. E-commerce paves the way for all of us to trade across the globe back and forth without having the need to be physically at the location of the party that you are trading with. Amazing! As much as it is used for good, there is also the dark side of it. People use it to deceive one another by selling something that doesn't exist or selling something that would normally cost, for example, USD10, at USD70. People say e-commerce is bad, I say e-commerce is not a bad thing, people make it a bad thing. At the end of the day, it is there for us to use and make life that little bit easier, very much like remote control. I too am involved with e-commerce and use it to provide myself with a second income stream. The “e” world is a wonderful place isn't it?

I would go in person to your County Clerk and register with the county. Ask what types of copyrighting there are for businesses. Also go in person to the State Comtroller to register with state. Ask the same question.

Download an application for a federal employer ID number.
Internal Revenue Service – Taxpayer Assistance Division
Look in the phone book under U.S. Government and ask the same question.
